Updates

McGhie Family newsletter/update, August 2010

Hello to you all, you are much on our minds and in our prayers. How we miss you all. Hope this finds you well and strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, and growing in the understanding of His word. He is a great God. Praise Him.

We continue to ‘wait’ on the Lord here in the UK. Thankfully our Pastor agrees completely in spirit also, that we should be waiting, and not jumping into the many ‘opportunities’ that are around. Praise God for that, as we could come to the conclusion that we are mad, blind, or stubborn.

Meanwhile we continue to meet lots of new faces at church and find that feeding people is a great way to get to know them! We spent last week away, doing a stall for Gospel For Asia, at the Keswick convention (Christian) in the lake District. We were mainly raising awareness and looking for missionary sponsorship. It was a good week of learning for us McGhie’s, in serving, witnessing, and stepping out of our comfort zones.

There were plenty of non believers surprisingly, so there were opportunities for us all to witness the gospel that saves.... Amen. We love doing ministry as a family, so it was a blessing for us all. What huge sacrifices our brothers and sisters in Christ make for Jesus’ name in the 10/40 window. They are inspiring, and their sacrifices extremely challenging for us westerners who live, in comparison, in such comfort and ease. Even the poorest of us!

My son is now doing worship at church, and the girls go to a girls group on Friday - an outreach to unbelievers, and on Monday - spiritual growth group.

I have been given a big 18 month project to do at work, which is both challenging and exciting.
